Let's Get Working is Somerset Skills & Learning NEW brand for our extensive range of opportunities to get 16-18 year olds into work.
All of our courses provide individualised packages of learning, skills development and careers information, advice and guidance to help you get the job you are after!
There is even the possibility of funds and bursaries to support you with some additional expenses that you may incur, so there is every reason to get involved.

Not in Education, Employment or Training?
Re-Engage provides flexible support and training tailored to your individual need to help you address anything in your way that is stopping you getting a job.
We can meet with you on a regular basis to agree realistic targets that will develop your skills and strengths in order to prepare you for further training, education, employment or an Apprenticeship.
From just one hour a week you can start to build your confidence and work as part of a team that will help you take next step.

Engage
Are you struggling with making a choice or perhaps you feel like dropping out of employment, education or training?
We can offer support to overcome your problems and help you move into or stay in employment, education or training. Engage is a flexible course to build confidence and skills through a range of activities and workshops delivered over an average of just 8 weeks!

Learning 2 Work
Learning 2 Work is a full time study programme to enable you to build on your experience and gain core skills to support your progression into further education, employment or an apprenticeship.
In addition to Maths and English qualifications, our experienced staff team provide:

work experience and volunteering opportunities

employability training
-
health and safety in the work place

vocational qualifications
in a range of occupational areas including Hospitality, Retail, Childcare, Construction, and ICT.
Classroom and Workshop Based Learning
Level 1 programmes
Our level 1 programmes are your first step into or an opportunity to try out a chosen vocational area:
- Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying
- Level 1 Introduction to General Hospitality
- Entry Level Award in Computer and Online Basics
- Level 1 ITQ Award (ECDL Essentials)
Level 2 and level 3 programmes
Level 2 and level 3 courses are also available in many of our centres across Somerset:
- Level 2 Support Work in Schools – you will spend two days a week with an employer and one day a week in our centre
- Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing Studies – suitable for anyone wishing to become a plumber
- Level 2 Industrial Environmental Awareness - if you are interested in a career in business and industry, this course is available one day a week supported by work experience opportunities
- Level 2 Certificate in Administration
- Level 3 Certificate in Administration
- Level 2 ITQ Certificate (ECDL Extra)
- Award in Bookkeeping
- Certificate in Bookkeeping.
