Somerset Skills & Learning (SS&L) has a skilled and experienced team who provide apprenticeships to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes from a range of industries.
We work with businesses to understand their skills gaps and with our expert knowledge of people of all age groups to help them recruit the apprentice that is right for them and provide ongoing support to both the apprentice and the business.
An apprenticeship is a package of on-the-job training and qualifications designed around the needs of the employer. You can use our apprenticeship programmes to train both new and existing employees.
If the apprentice is aged 16 to 18-years-old there is no cost to you for their training - all you have to pay is their wages (the National Minimum Wage for apprentices under the age of 19 is £2.60 per hour).
