There is a range of delivery for parents/carers of 0-5 year olds. Children’s centres and early years settings work in partnership with the Family Learning team to run initiatives including:
- 'Play and language' workshops and courses for parents/ carers to look at early language development with 0-3 year aids.
- 'Early Start' 36 hour courses, designed to enhance language development and everyday interactions between parents/carers and their babies and young children of 0-3 years.
- ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ courses for parents/carers of 0-5 year olds, aiming to introduce the early years curriculum and extend their skills in supporting their children’s learning and language development.
Parents/carers are encouraged to take the opportunity to work towards the national test in literacy and/or numeracy.
