'Keeping Up With The Children' aims to extend parents' skills in supporting their children's literacy and numeracy at home and heighten their awareness of the literacy and numeracy/ English and maths strategies within schools at Key Stages 1, 2 & 3. Schools may prefer to run this course as 'Help Your Child Succeed' with an emphasis on brain-based learning.
It is tutored by teachers, supported by the Family Learning team and runs for 12 hours. Teachers are funded for the delivery of the course and for resources.
Parents/carers are encouraged to take the opportunity to work towards the national test in literacy and/or numeracy.
