Keeping Up With The Children - Literacy and Numeracy Workshops

'Keeping Up With The Children' aims to extend parents' skills in supporting their children's literacy and numeracy at home and heighten their awareness of the literacy and numeracy/ english and maths strategies within schools at Key Stages 1, 2 & 3. Schools may prefer to run this course as 'Help Your
Child Succeed' with an emphasis on brain-based learning.

It is tutored by teachers and runs for 12 hours. Teachers are funded for the delivery of the course and for resources. Teachers may also run a taster for 2-4 hours.

Family Literacy & Numeracy Workshops are for targeted children and their parents/carers to work together on practical literacy or numeracy activities that may support children's- learning at home and raise awareness of the literacy or numeracy strategies. Schools may wish to run workshops through ICT.

The workshops run for 3 hours and may be tutored internally by teachers who are funded for their delivery or externally by an experienced family learning tutor/adviser.
