'Share' is a popular course covering the Foundation Stage, Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. It has been run very successfully in Somerset for many years. 'Share' is run by teachers or teaching assistants and can be adapted to the individual needs and requirements of schools.
'Share' is an ongoing course, designed to reach a wide range of parents/carers who want to support their children's learning at home and so increase their success and well-being at school.
Teachers or teaching assistants need to attend 1 - 1.5 days tutor training to enable them to run a 'Share' course in their school This is fully funded.
Tutors meet a group of parents/carers on a regular basis to take part in a variety of fun activities, supported by Sharebooks, which complement work at school. Parents/carers use the activities at home and feedback on their impact. They are provided with 'Share' resources by schools who are given appropriate funding.
Parents/carers are accredited annually for taking part in the 'Share' programme.
