NVQ stands for National Vocational Qualification. The aim of these qualifications is to recognise the skills and competences of candidates in the workplace. The qualifications provide individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in a relevant occupational sector. The units encompass a board range of competences from your chosen sector for example, administration, engineering or health and social care.
QCFs
QCF is the new Government framework for recognising achievement, through the award of credit, for units and qualifications.
It provides more flexible routes to full qualifications, achievable in smaller steps.
A new centralised database, established in late 2010, helps to track credits and provide learners with an online record of their achievements.
Awards, Certificates and Diplomas.
All candidates must be working or volunteering in an appropriate placement. Funding could be available (subject to eligibility check)
